Our Values at Work

Our values guide how we operate as a corporate citizen and inspire continuous efforts to reduce to make our communities healthier and more sustainable. 

Our core values - integrity, respect, commitment, excellence and caring - are embedded in every interaction with our members, customers and suppliers. And as a health insurer, we recognize that taking care of people requires taking care of the planet.

We continuously evaluate our use of energy and resources and take steps to minimize our impact on the environment. 

In 2024, we continued to offset 100% of our electric power-related emissions with the purchase of Green-e Certified Renewable Energy Certificates.  

We're subscribed to WELL at scale, applying the International WELL Building Institute's health and well-being strategies across our entire building portfolio. Our headquarters building has earned the WELL Health-Safety rating since 2022.

In 2024 we evolved our urban beekeeping program to support native pollinator populations, hosting one honeybee hive and two bee hotels. We also maintained our pollinator garden and implemented a biomonitoring program to better understand local biodiversity measures.

This designation, earned for the ninth straight year, recognizes a broad range of initiatives focused on culture, compliance practices, governance, environmental and social impacts, and third-party management. In addition to this global recognition, our ethics and compliance resources for management were named a "best practice" by Health Ethics Trust.
